Here are release notes for DataSeer 4.3.

New Features

Auto-Label

The new Auto-Label feature gives you the ability to extract common symbols from diagrams automatically. This powerful functionality saves you even more time processing diagrams.

How it Works

To use Auto-Label, select the Auto-Label option when creating a new project.

DataSeer will then extract symbols automatically as each diagram uploads to the project.

Once the upload is complete, open the project and look at the sidebar to see all of the items that DataSeer extracted.

Warning

Existing Auto-Label users may notice longer processing times due to the expanded symbol library and onboarding of thousands of additional users over the coming weeks. This processing time will continue to improve in upcoming updates.

Symbols tab

The new Symbols tab replaces the Valves and Instruments tabs that displayed previously. Use the Symbols tab to extract valves, instruments, equipment, or other symbols from diagrams.

As a result of this change, the sidebar has been refreshed to group items into three symbol classes:

  • Valves
  • Instrumentation & Controls
  • Other

To enhance the labeling the workflow, the Add New and Add to Existing buttons have been consolidated into a single Annotate button.

How it Works

To extract a symbol from a diagram, click on the toolbar, draw a box around the symbol, and follow the on-screen instructions on the new Selection window (shown below).

To view details for symbols you have extracted, click Valves / Instrumentation & Controls / Other on the sidebar and then select the symbol type.

You will also notice that the sidebar now only displays symbols extracted from diagrams in the project, and no longer displays every symbol by default. This makes it easier to focus in on the items extracted.

Other Symbol Export

The Download Other symbols option is now available for projects. Select this option to export the data extracted for symbols listed under Other on the Symbols tab.

Enhancements

  • Enhanced the toolbar buttons to feature labels explaining their usage.

  • Enhanced the symbol library to feature the following new symbols:

    Symbol Name
    o-1 DIAPHRAGM
    o-2 FLANGE
    o-3 HEAT TRACER
    o-4 OPC UP
    o-5 OPC RIGHT
    o-6 OPC DOWN
    o-7 OPC LEFT
    o-8 REDUCER

  • Enhanced the Download Digitization Outputs feature to export all lines detected.

Performance Improvements

  • Enhanced the project creation process to work better.

Fixes

  • Fixed issue with the Selection tool that prevented you from extracting data.
  • Fixed issue where you couldn't stop a review during the initial stages of an item search.
